It’s Day 10 of the 90-Day Novel Challenge.

Most people quit. If you don’t quit, if you rewrite, if you keep publishing in fancier places, you will understand that “What’s the secret?” is not the question, which is “Are you having fun?” –Robert Lipsyte

I’ll be first today. I haven’t written anything on my story since last Thursday! I admit to be not ready with my story when we started our challenge. I’ve taken a short break from writing to get the planning done. I need a destination before I start my journey or I’ll drive in circles.
I’m using Holly’s Think Sideways class to guide me through the planning and wow! Her Dot and Line exercise is turning up all kinds of interesting conflicts for my story. This will be a much better story because of the things I’m learning in this workshop.
I’m keeping track of how many words I’ve missed and will make them up over the course of the 90-Day Challenge. I should be ready to start writing again shortly.

I didn’t write tonight. I have been trying to clean stuff off my computer because it is really slow. I have to admit I started late because I went swimming since it was 90 here today. I have lot of ideas for tomorrow.

I sat myself down and made myself write, after that it started flowing…sortof. I got 1014 words in but not quality words. My brain is still cluttered so it’s hard to write when I have too many worries in there. Need to focus.
